As at Croft in early June, Edwards will appear with the MRM team alongside alongside Jack Young and Brett Lidsey who currently lie second and third in the standings.

At Croft, Edwards came close to a maiden podium result in the UK Clio Cup - he held third place for much of race one but had to make do with fourth after being deposed by Team HARD's Jamie Bond on the final lap.

His appearance in his Intercleanse-backed car will certainly be a boost for MRM in the Entrants' championship for teams - Mike Ritchie's outfit had been leading it up until Oulton Park but has now slipped to second behind Team HARD.

In each race, a team's points haul in that championship is the combined scores of its two highest finishing drivers - so the more cars it can field the better, in theory, are its chances...

Having come so close at Croft, Edwards will certainly be heading to Snetterton looking for his first podium. And if Young and Lidsey can both return to top form then there could even be a 1-2-3 finish on the cards for MRM - a result not achieved a by a team in the UK Clio Cup since the end of 2014...
