This will be the fourth year in a row that the dynamic duo have shared the microphone since teaming up permanently in 2015 when current British Touring Car Champion Ashley Sutton won the UK Clio Cup title.

Notably in 2017, ITV Sport devoted more live air time than ever before to the BTCC events at which the UK Clio Cup appears on its ITV4 and ITV+1 channels.

This totalled a staggering 144.5 hours across the BTCC’s ten events (UK Clio Cup appears at nine of them).

That is more live race day coverage than even Formula 1 receives on a free-to-air channel in the UK and ITV is the nation’s largest commercial TV broadcaster.

ITV also adds to its race day coverage of the BTCC and UK Clio Cup with live-streaming of the action on ITV.com – making both championships accessible to huge new audiences through hand-held devices such as mobile phones, iPads and tablets.

In addition, highlights the UK Clio Cup action follow on its Motorsport UK programme which is played out on both ITV4 and ITV1.

Meanwhile 2018’s BTCC also saw a further rise in the number of people attending events – these totalled 385,100 at the ten events.

Richard commented: "I can't wait for this year’s Clio Cup. I think it is going to be one of the most open for years, especially with Mike Bushell moving on.

“As we've said many times, the Clio Cup is the place to be for aspirant touring car drivers. They will have to deliver on track but that's not a worry given the quality of racing that Renault UK has always served up with it championships."

And said 2010 UK Clio Cup title winner Phil: “I am once again looking forward to another exciting season of the UK Clio cup. I am keeping a close eye on the media to see who is coming back for another year and which new drivers are joining!

“From what I’ve seen so far I predict a few surprise winners in 2018, especially now we have our reigning champion moving up to the BTCC where he belongs... again!”
