Simon will assist Keith Auld, the championship’s long standing chief scrutineer, at all nine events on the calendar starting at Brands Hatch in early April.
This adds to his duties in heading up the Clio Cup’s data analytics team which has helped train up numerous engineering apprentices.
Simon is also Commercial Director for RML Group Ltd which oversees design, manufacture and supply of common suspension componentry for the British Touring Car Championship.
He commented: “The Clio Cup’s reputation for maintaining a level playing field amongst the cars on its grid is unrivalled in one make saloon car racing.
“This is vitally important in offering teams and drivers peace of mind and I’m very happy to add my knowledge and expertise to its scrutineering team.”
