'TOP NAME' PATTISON JOINS COOKSPORT FOR RENAULT UK CLIO CUP RETURN AT KNOCKHILL

Proven Renault UK Clio Cup race winner Lee Pattison will make a one-off return to the category for its latest rounds at the Knockhill circuit in Fife this coming weekend (Sat 22/Sun 23 August), with Dunlop British Touring Car star Josh Cook’s Team Cooksport squad.

Pattison, from Scholes in West Yorkshire, has been a regular on the Clio Cup grid since 2008. In 2010 he was championship runner-up, finishing between future touring car stars Dave Newsham (the Champion that year) and Sam Tordoff at the top of the table.

The 41-year-old commented: “It feels great to be back, even if it is only a one-off. Knockhill is a circuit I get on very well with – I had two second places there the weekend Newsham won the title.

“The Clio Cup is certainly very competitive, but I’m still going there this weekend aiming for a couple of top five finishes.”

Team Principal Cook, who will be busy with his own BTCC duties at Knockhill, said: “It’s great to have Lee racing for Team Cooksport. He has a lot of experience being a multiple race winner.

“Lee was my team mate in the 2013 Clio Cup and we worked really well together. I am looking forward to working alongside him again – he is definitely one to watch.”
