Va va voom! Rockingham to host 2016 Renault UK Clio Cup season launch

Northamptonshire’s Rockingham circuit will set the backdrop for next year’s annual Renault UK Clio Cup season preview and launch (Wednesday 23 March 2016).

Media are openly invited to attend and should email UK Clio Cup Media Officer Carl McKellar cmckellar@barc.net

The event will enable media to get up close and personal with the UK Clio Cup’s teams and drivers as well as the expertly-engineered Renault UK Clio Cup race car. Passenger lap experiences and the opportunity to drive the potent Clio Renaultsport 220 Trophy road model – on which the race car is based – will be included in the day’s programme.

The Renault UK Clio Cup was the stand-out supporting category to the Dunlop British Touring Car Championship in 2015, culminating in one of the most exciting title-deciding final rounds in its history.

Furthermore an increasing number of hungry young racing talents are seeing the UK Clio Cup as the championship to be in to further their chances of careers in top-line touring car, sportscar and GT competition – as borne out by the championship experiencing its biggest grid sizes in two years.

Indeed the UK Clio Cup will continue to race alongside the BTCC at its high-profile events in 2016 – again meaning huge trackside crowds and live television coverage on ITV4 for its drivers, teams and sponsors.

The above date (Weds 23 March at Rockingham) will be shared with a season launch of the Ford Eco-Boost-powered MSA Formula single-seater championship that also races with the UK Clio Cup alongside the BTCC.
