The car has been developed for TCR Europe regulations by Vukovic Motorsport. Young's drive in it has the support of Renault Sport Racing.
The 17-year-old was yesterday at Hockenheim, Germany where he is testing the Mégane for the first time (pictured above).
Young said: “This is an immediate step-up up in performance from my Clio so I expect the learning curve to be steep, but there was no way I was going to miss this opportunity to mix it up with the big boys in the touring car series in Europe.
“My focus now is to get to know the new car and my new team as quickly as possible. There is a lot of work to be done between now and the end of September in Barcelona and I’m itching to get started.”
After yesterday's test at Hockenheim, Young is now en route back to the UK for what could prove to be two decisive races in the Clio Cup's title battle at Knockhill.
He currently lies second in the standings but is only six points adrift of leader Max Coates. A maximum of 56 points are up for grabs in this weekend’s double header fixture with just four more rounds – two each at Silverstone and Brands Hatch – to go after.
